Dress CODE
Sonning Golf Club is a prestigious golf club & we are committed to preserving the traditions, while continually evolving as a modern and progressive club. Our aim is to create an environment where members, guests, and visitors all feel comfortable
Therefore, we provide the following guidance for all:
- ON THE COURSE (including practice ground and putting green)
Golf attire should be specifically designed for golf rather than general sports or leisurewear. Shirts must be always tucked in unless designed to be worn otherwise. Denim jeans, tracksuits, T-shirts, and sleeveless tops are not permitted.
Tailored shorts (not combat or ¾ length) may be worn and should be paired with either plain white ankle socks or knee-length socks of any colour. Golf shoes may be soft-spiked or spiked; however, trainers, plimsolls, and flip flops are not allowed.
- IN AND AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE
Members and guests should be suitably dressed at all times. While certain events may require specific attire, smart casual wear is generally acceptable throughout the clubhouse.
Clean and dry golf shoes are only permitted in the Spike Bar and changing rooms; they must be changed before entering other areas. Hats, caps, and visors should be removed inside the clubhouse. Jeans are acceptable if they are clean, smart, and free from rips or tears. Clothing with paint marks, collarless T-shirts, football shirts, singlets, and flip flops are not allowed.
- RESTAURANT & TERRACE DINING
Members, their families, and guests are expected to dress appropriately when dining. Flip flops, plimsolls, hoodies, and collarless T-shirts are not suitable. Members who have played golf during the day are generally expected to change before formal dining in the restaurant. - GENERAL
Members are responsible for ensuring their guests adhere to the dress code and always maintain appropriate behaviour. The club reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone deemed inappropriately dressed. To avoid any inconvenience or embarrassment, please ensure your guests are aware of these expectations.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sonning Golf Club.
